ANSWERS TO FAQs
When should I audition?
When you should audition depends on what kind of part you want in the show.
If you want to ONLY be in the chorus, or the ensemble, then you should audition on MONDAY or TUESDAY.
Coming on Monday or Tuesday will guarantee that you do not get cast as a principal. (For a list of principals, click here
If you would like to be a PRINCIPAL part, then you should come on WEDNESDAY or THURSDAY.
Coming on Wednesday or Thursday will not guarantee that you get a principal, but it tells me that you are open to doing a bigger part. Again, for a list of principals click here

What will I have to do at the auditions?
On Monday and Tuesday, I will ask everyone who auditions to please sing a small part of any song from "The Wizard of Oz". (I have copies of songs available upon request, otherwise, you can practice with the movie or the soundtrack) After singing, I will ask students to interact with each other in various theatre games.
No one who comes on Monday or Tuesday will need to read from the script.

On Wednesday and Thursday, I will ask everyone who auditions to please sing a small part of any song from "The wizard of Oz". (I have copies of songs available upon request, otherwise, you can practice with the movie or the soundtrack) After singing, I will ask students to read various parts of the script for various characters. These small parts of the script are called "sides". These sides are available in my room and also online.
Generally speaking, I will let the students choose what part they would like to read, however, I would appreciate the students to be open to reading anything I ask them to read.
